There are several factors to consider when deciding which home builder to choose for your project. One of the best ways to vet a builder candidate is to hear directly from past customers. This is a great way to get the full scoop on what your home building experience would be like and help weigh the pro’s and con’s. Of our many reviews and customer testimonials, here is our most recent from a customer we built for in The Preserve, among Greenwood Village’s most prestigious communities:
We selected Tom Sattler to build our home in the preserve. He and his team were a pleasure to work with from the first meeting, through design, through the build, and after.
We asked Tom to recommend an architect he liked to work with and the one he recommended was fabulous. He began with a thorough questionnaire about how we lived in our home. He listened to everything we had to say. We never had to repeat something. When we asked for something to be designed in to the plan, or to change something in the plan, it was done expeditiously and just as we had asked. He made excellent recommendations.
Tom has an outstanding designer/decorator. She kept track of every detail so I didn’t need to. She understood my vision from the beginning. She had excellent taste and expertise with color. I could show her a photograph and ask if it were possible to replicate the idea in our home and she made it happen every time. We wanted to keep most of the furniture from our previous home. She was able to recommend paint colors that would work well with our fabrics and with the vision we had for our home. She also assisted me later with the purchase of a few new furniture pieces, rugs, window treatments.
Tom’s superintendents were outstanding people. They were on top of every detail of the home’s construction. We were building long distance and when we arrived in town for visits, everything was done as expected, perfectly, and on schedule. They were professional, polite, and a pleasure to work with.
We loved every one of Tom’s subcontractors. His millworker was outstanding and he was a pleasure to work with. He was able to draw, and even cut small samples of the woodwork we were considering for our fireplaces, front door surround, built-in cabinets, and special interest features in the ceilings. His painter is the best in Denver. We selected a “level 5” finish for the walls in our home, which are extremely smooth and very few people in the Denver area are able to do this level of drywall and paint. The walls are perfect. His stone mason, electrician, plumber, flooring company were also outstanding.
We did have two issues that needed repair after we moved in. One was a flaw in one spot of the home and when the subcontractor made attempts to repair this without success, Tom continued to coordinate the replacement of the item beyond the warranty period. The other was something that needed more investigation as to what was causing the problem. Tom investigated until the problem was solved and corrected. When Tom builds a home, he doesn’t walk away once he hands the keys over to you.
Our home turned out to be everything we hoped it would be, and as perfectly constructed as could be. We could not have asked for a better experience and would choose Tom again if we ever build another home.
